My Mission

At the start of 2026 I made the choice to take this commitment to natural fibres a step further to include as many of the trims and components which go into my bridal garments as possible. This includes threads, boning, linings, tapes, interfacings and closures. This is a work in progress, taking small steps towards being a plastic free atelier with all products being completely plastic free and natural.

Threads

Even garments made from natural fabrics are most often stitched together with polyester thread. I aim to use silk or cotton threads in all of my work.

Linings

All LJB garments are self lined, or lined in an appropriate natural fabric. Voluminous details are lined with structured silk taffeta or organza. Corset bodices are lined with strong and supportive cotton coutil.

Interfacings

Interfacings are used to give strength to delicate fabrics. I have recently switched from using polyester to natural cotton interfacing.

Boning

Bridal garments often require boning to give them structure and support.

Closures

Self covered buttons, Zips, Lacing
